#25- Read Through the Entire Bible

About a year ago I received a Bible reading schedule and a challenge. Two days ago (Saturday, November 29th) I finished the challenge. As you have probably guessed the challenge was to read through the Bible, no time limit, just the hope that I would hide God’s word in my heart. Thanks to the Lord I did. I believe that reading all of the Bible, God’s word to us, is a huge step in your Christian walk. I hope to read through the Bible again this year. My family was such a blessing to me and an encouragement when I finished. Can not wait to see how God will teach and guide me this next year!

#24- Engaged My Grandfather in Conversation

So on Thanksgiving we usually go to my grandparents house in Old Fort, NC. After the ole famous Thanksgiving meal we make it a tradition to take a walk on a beautiful mountain path near their home. People drop out on the way and it ended up as me, Jace and my grandpa taking the whole hike. On the way back I casually asked my grandpa if he had any big projects he was working on (my grandpa is very handy). This led to a discussion on heat pumps, a trip under the house and some new information in my noggin! Our grandparents can be a wealth of information if only you ask! Our grandparents have lived a good time longer than we have and we can learn a lot from them. So my challenge to you is next time you see your grandparents ask them one simple question. Just one! Ask them about what life was like when they were kids, how to do something, maybe they fought in a battle in WW1 or WW2 or had a special hobby that you didn’t know about. Grandparents have stories, just ask.
